Don't let the headline fool you, because every bit of it is true. Yep, a spoilt kid of a swiss millionaire burnt his £162,000 ferrari so he could get an upgrade from his dad. Now that's the height, isn't it? I f you were the dad, would you buy him another car after such a rash action from your kid?
The luxurious sports car was just one the 20-year-old's 15-car collection which his rich father had bought for him. The spoilt son from Zurich, who also owns several plush properties worth about 27million francs, decided his three-year-old Ferrari 458 Italia, was not good enough and wanted the new model.
He claimed he was advised by a car dealer to commit insurance fraud, hatching a plan with one of the colleages at the showroom. He covered his tracks by setting fire to the unwanted motor in Bavaria in South Germany.
He paid two accomplices 15,000 francs to burn the car abandoned in an industrial park while he and a friend visited a massage parlour in order to have an alibi. But the cunning plan was foiled as security cameras and intercepted phone calls quickly revealed the plan.
He has been sentenced to a year and a half in prison and has been fined €30,000.
