And it's a sad day in the wrestling world as one of its' icons has passed away. I can still recall vividly how as a kid i used to watch this famous wrestler who would be all dressed up in a "skirt'' which i now know is called a KILT, do battle with other top elites in the sport such as The undertaker, Macho man, ultimate warrior etc and overcome but alas his final battle was with death, in which he couldn't overcome. May his soul REST IN PEACE.
Piper, who was born Roderick George Toombs, suffered a cardiac arrest home at his Hollywood home.He is survived by his wife Kitty and their four children.Piper declared that he was cancer-free last November after being diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma in 2006.
His death is not thought to be linked to his illness.A family member said: "Our family is saddened by the sudden passing of our father and beloved husband, Roderick Toombs aka Rowdy Roddy Piper."
