Sir Ian McKellen and Sir Patrick Stewart shared a kiss for the cameras as they two friends greeted each other warmly at the Mr Holmes premiere.
The two stars were spotted at the Odeon cinema in Kensington as they embraced on the red carpet and posed for pictures at the event.
McKellen - who plays a version of Sherlock Holmes showing early signs of dementia in the film - was met by his long-time friend as they wished each other well before heading into the screening
Both stars kept it casual at the event, but still had an air of class as they posed for snaps and smiled at the cameras.
McKellen has also commented on taking on the famous of Arthur Conan Doyle's famous sleuth, and admitted it has been "extraordinary" to play the part.
Meanwhile, fans were no doubt sad to learn that while McKellen will be playing Magneto in X-Men: Apocalypse, friend and co-star Stewart won't be returning as Charles Xavier .
Stewart previously revealed: "Yes, I understand that it seems to be very unlikely that I will be in the next X-Men movie, which is almost getting ready to start shooting in Montreal."
